You do not have to land on Guam carless and start the hunt from a hotel room. Here is how people actually line up a vehicle from the states, and how to do it without getting burned.
Where Guam buys used cars
Three channels: the on-base resale lots at Andersen and Naval Base Guam, Facebook Marketplace, and licensed dealers. The base lots and Marketplace can surface real deals from families PCSing out - but you cannot inspect anything from 6,000 miles away, timing rarely lines up with your flight, and the paperwork is on you.
Buying from a dealer before you arrive
A licensed dealer can hold paperwork, answer in writing, and have a unit ready on your timeline. Here is how it works at our desk: message us on WhatsApp from the states, tell us your budget and what you need, and we will send what is on the lot and what is inbound.
The reservation list is free
Name, contact, and the unit you want. No payment, no obligation. You get first-priority contact when the unit lands or photos drop. The only way to lock a unit outright is payment in full - those holds are non-refundable, so most inbound buyers start with the free list.
Financing and paperwork
Navy Federal and USAA pre-approvals work here. Bring the draft or approval; we handle the sale paperwork. Title and registration are ours to file - you sign a limited power of attorney, we file with DRT, and you get the plates and registration card after filing.
What to ask any seller on Guam
Is the price posted or does it move when you show interest. Is there a written inspection you can read before you commit. Who files the registration. If the answers are vague from a private seller or another lot, keep walking.
